SCOUTABOUT 2022 Camp Kit List

Full uniform to be worn to and from Camp and for closing ceremony - all badges sewn on.

Large rucksack containing:

• Sleeping bag

• Roll mat (no blow up mattresses) Example here

• Blanket and pillow (both very optional!)

• Pyjamas

• Torch and spare batteries

• Hanger for uniform

• Sun hat (warm hat if cold)

• Waterproof jacket

• Waterproof trousers and/or gaitors

• Warm jumper / fleece

• Thin long sleeved tops

• T shirts

• Trousers / Shorts

• Socks (long and short)

• Spare underwear

• Walking boots

• Trainers

• Old pair of trainers or similiar for dirty activites (will be advised)

• Old set of closes for dirty activities

• Personal wash kit including toothbrush and toothpaste

• Towel

• Tea Towel (Essential)

• Plate

• Bowl

• Mug

• Water bottle

• Knife, fork, and spoon

• Spare bag for dirty clothes

• Cards/travel games

• Notebook and pencil

• Personal first aid kit

• Sun tan lotion (if sunny)

For Parascending without these they won’t be flying

• Clothing to cover their arms & legs

• Ankle supporting boots without these they won’t be flying.

For Canoeing and other water activities without these they won’t be participating

• Dry Clothes to travel to and from the activity

• Swimming Costume

• Towel

• Cagoule to wear on the water

• T-Shirt to wear on the water

• Shorts to wear on the water

• Shoes for wearing on the water – They will get wet - NOT Crocs, Wellies, Walking Boots, flip-flops

• Bag / bin bag for wet clothing to be carried back in.

General Activity guidance

• Most activities at Scoutabout can be undertaken in general activity clothing but some may involve getting wet, e.g. the black hole cave, dunk tank, sponge throwing, bungee slides. The following clothing is advised for activities involving water - Swimming costume, t-shirt & shorts, old trainers, towel, warm change of clothes for afterwards and a plastic bag (bin bag) for wet clothes.

Do not to tie anything on the outside of your rucksack. It nearly always falls off or gets snagged on something. The only real exception to this is your roll mat which is difficult to put inside.

Everything must be named and put into plastic bags before putting in a rucksack - this is to keep your items dry if it is raining when we get on site.

ALL ITEMS TO BE CLEARLY LABELLED

SCOUTS SHOULD PACK THEIR OWN BAGS

PARENT CO-OPERATION IS REQUESTED TO ENSURE SCOUTS DO NOT BRING MOBILE PHONES, MP3 PLAYERS, OR OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES - they are easily damaged, dropped, broken or soaked. Leaders will not take any responsibility for these items.
